We are seeking a hands-on Physical Security Systems Engineer focused on the day-to-day monitoring, management, and optimization of physical security systems, with a strong emphasis on access control (badging) and Genetec platform experience.
This role will be critical in ensuring seamless operation of security systems across our facility while supporting integrations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Security System Monitoring & Management
- Monitor and manage enterprise physical security systems, including:
- Access control systems (badging, credentialing, permissions)
- Video surveillance (IP-based cameras)
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day system health, alerts, and issue resolution
Access Control & Badging (Core Focus)
- Administer and maintain badging systems, including:
- User provisioning and deactivation
- Role-based access permissions
- Badge reader and door controller functionality
- Troubleshoot access issues and ensure secure, compliant access across the site
Genetec Platform Ownership
- Configure, monitor, and optimize Genetec security systems
- Support integrations and ensure system performance and uptime
- Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance system capabilities
System Integration & Support
- Support integrations with identity and IT systems:
- SSO (Single Sign-On)
- RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
- Assist in maintaining system documentation, standards, and device naming conventions
Network & Infrastructure Collaboration
- Work with IT teams to:
- Ensure proper network connectivity for security devices
- Support VLAN configuration and secure device segmentation
- Assist with troubleshooting Layer 1–3 issues impacting systems
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in physical security systems or access control administration
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Badging/access control systems
- Genetec platform (required or highly preferred)
- Experience supporting security system monitoring and operations
- Familiarity with:
- Door controllers, badge readers, and access hardware
- Basic understanding of networking (IP devices, connectivity, troubleshooting)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing or large-scale facility environments
- Knowledge of video surveillance systems (CCTV/IP cameras)
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
