What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blending Operator- First Shift position at COMPACT INDUSTRIES INC?
First Shift: 5:00 am - 3:00 pm
PURPOSE:
To produce high-quality blended formulas and provide finished good blends to the Packaging department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and understand the daily blending schedule and shift expectations.
Verify that the equipment being used is in good working order. Complete inspection forms as necessary.
Weigh, stage, blend, or dump formulas according to the schedule.
Verify all ingredients and quantities align with the batch formulas and are introduced to the blender in the proper sequence.
Ensure the correct tools are used in accordance with our color code policy.
Utilize a manual or electric pallet jack to transport material or hoppers.
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
Complete all necessary forms in SafetyChain.
Provide samples to quality as needed.
Lead the blending process and guide team members working at blenders.
Always follow safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.
Communicate via radio and face-to-face throughout the department on material needs and process progression.
Utilize an RF scanner to transfer materials to jobs, hoppers, or packaging lines.
Complete necessary documentation for the batch.
Communicate with packaging and quality as needed.
Ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner.
Assist and direct other team members as needed.
Train new associates as needed.
Participate in company inventory count and other assignments as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Stand or walk 98% of the shift.
Bending, twisting, stooping motions 80% of time
Basic knowledge of an RF scanner is a plus.
Ability to calculate simple mathematical figures and understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience in manufacturing or food environment is a plus.
