Candidates
must meet
all of the following to be considered:
- Must be able to obtain a Q Clearance. Applicants with criminal backgrounds that prevent this clearance will not be considered.
- Must have experience supporting construction work and interpreting mechanical, civil, and/or radiological engineering documentation.
- Must be able to perform site walkdowns and manage Integrated Work Documents (IWDs). This includes physical capability to walk across lab properties and access various infrastructure environments.
Impact
Join a dedicated team of 8 planners in the CONSERV group (HS320C) supporting infrastructure and construction operations at LANL. Your work will directly impact the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of construction activities vital to national security and laboratory operations.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Develop and/or review detailed work packages, including time, material, and labor estimates.
- Write and validate step-by-step work instructions and ensure safety/testing compliance.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Conduct field walkdowns across various facilities and coordinate with superintendents and stakeholders.
- Manage Integrated Work Documents (IWDs) and resolve work restraints.
- Track work planning activities using computerized systems such as Asset Suite and Mobile Work Package (MWP).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 8 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience with construction work planning in mechanical, civil, or radiological disciplines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and work management software such as Asset Suite.
- Capable of physical site walkdowns and understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures, safety practices, and hazard control.
Desired Skills
- Prior experience in nuclear, chemical, or oil industry environments.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
- Familiarity with legal, environmental, and safety standards in a secure facility setting.
