Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered:
- Experience with DOE or commercial nuclear startup testing programs, including procedure development and test execution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of Manual 5E or equivalent startup test directives.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance—applicants without U.S. citizenship or who cannot meet clearance requirements will not be considered.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute complex startup, operations, and testing assignments.
- Provide technical expertise for resolving issues related to startup methods and testing protocols.
- Develop and review test procedures and technical work documents.
- Support and lead design reviews, startup testing, and procedural compliance.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- Perform field consulting services and deliver technical training as needed.
- Ensure personal accountability for safety, schedule, budget, and quality performance.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and support contract proposal development.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a technical discipline – or – 12–18 years of directly related experience.
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in startup, operations, maintenance, or testing.
- Basic familiarity with engineering systems, startup methods, and relevant industry standards.
- Strong communication skills and accountability for safe work execution.
- Must meet physical requirements for site work, including climbing, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Prior experience supporting DOE or commercial nuclear startup testing.
- Certification in commissioning/startup testing (Level II or III, ASME NQA-1).
- Experience with test procedure approval and presentation.
- Past possession of a DOE L or Q clearance within the last two years.
- Recognized engineering or technical degree from an accredited college or university OR
- U.S. Military training or extensive hands-on experience (12–18 years) in startup/testing roles in lieu of degree.
- Familiarity with Commissioning/Startup Testing, including procedure development and test execution.
