COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Project Engineer 2 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.
- Pay: $60/hr – $65/hr
- Location: 100% Onsite – Los Alamos, NM (TA-55, installation phase)

- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3 years experience
- Must be available for 100% onsite work – hybrid/remote is not allowed
Impact
Join the Plutonium Infrastructure Engineering Division (PIE-DO), supporting installation efforts at LANL’s TA-55 facility. You’ll be part of a mission-critical, high-consequence environment, directly enabling national security and nuclear modernization by supporting construction and engineering activities on some of the nation’s most sensitive infrastructure.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as technical lead across planning, design, field execution, and project closeout
- Manage design change processes, including coordination with internal/external teams
- Provide technical support for construction teams during installation and commissioning
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, including AHJ and SMEs
- Ensure compliance with LANL’s Conduct of Engineering and NQA-1 standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of engineering contracts and construction interfaces
- Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (NEC, IBC, ASME, etc.)
- Effective communicator; strong interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration
- Experience in technical documentation and submittal review
- Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and willingness to learn LANL tools
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with DOE orders (e.g., DOE O 413.3B), glovebox systems, and AutoCAD
- Previous experience in regulated environments (DOE, DoD, pharma, oil/gas, power plants)
Education and Experience Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s in Engineering 3 years’ experience
- Desired: Advanced degree or professional certification (EIT/PE)
