COMPA Industries is seeking an Operations Support Specialist 4 to assist with high-hazard nuclear operations, construction, and startup efforts at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TA-55 / PF4)—one of the nation’s premier nuclear research and production facilities.
Required Qualifications – Please Review Carefully
To be considered, candidates must meet all of the following:
- Direct Radiation Protection (RP) experience is required (no exceptions)
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in Radiation Protection or nuclear facility operations
- Prior work in DOE Category II or NRC-regulated nuclear facilities
- Experience supporting construction, startup, or operational activities in nuclear environments
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support across design, construction, startup, and operational phases of complex nuclear systems
- Act as a Radiation Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both project and field teams
- Offer technical guidance to engineering, construction, and work control personnel
- Conduct independent evaluations and reviews to ensure safe, compliant operations
- Collaborate with leadership, stakeholders, and client representatives
- Establish and uphold work standards, ensuring adherence to procedures and quality expectations
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams involved in nuclear operations
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 8 years in Radiation Protection, nuclear operations, or work planning
- Background working in DOE, NRC, or other high-hazard nuclear environments
- Strong understanding of Conduct of Operations and radiological control principles
- Demonstrated leadership ability in complex, high-risk environments
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Position Information

- Schedule: 4x12 shifts aligned with project needs
- Duration: Long-term opportunity (up to 5 years)
- Work Environment: Hybrid (combination of on-site and remote support)
