COMPA Industries is hiring an Operations Support Specialist 4 to support high-hazard nuclear operations, construction, and startup activities at TA-55 / PF4—one of the most advanced plutonium facilities in the country.
Mandatory Experience Requirement – Please Read Before Applying
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for this role:
- Radiation Protection experience is required – candidates without direct RP experience will not be considered
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in Radiation Protection or nuclear facility operations
- Experience supporting DOE Cat II or NRC nuclear facilities is required
- Experience supporting construction, startup, or operations in nuclear environments
- Ability to acquire a DOE Q Clearance
What You’ll Do
- Support design, construction, startup, and operational activities for complex high-hazard nuclear systems
- Serve as a Radiation Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) to project and field teams
- Provide technical recommendations to engineering, construction, and work control organizations
- Perform independent reviews and assessments to ensure safe and compliant execution
- Interface with leadership, project stakeholders, and customer representatives
- Develop and enforce work standards and ensure compliance with radiological and operational procedures
What We’re Looking For
- 8 years of experience in Radiation Protection, nuclear operations, or work planning
- Experience working in DOE, NRC, or high-hazard nuclear environments
- Strong knowledge of Conduct of Operations and radiological controls
- Proven ability to lead teams and provide technical direction in complex environments
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Position Details
- Location: Los Alamos National Laboratory – TA-55 (PF4)
- Schedule: 4x12 schedule aligned with project needs
- Duration: Long-term assignment (up to 5 years)
- Environment: Hybrid (on-site and remote) supporting nuclear facility operations
- Clearance: Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance required (Active clearance preferred)
