OSS 4 – Construction Field Execution Specialist

COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an OSS 4 position supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.

Salary: $65/hr – $75/hr

Location: 100% Onsite – Los Alamos, NM

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance

Clearance Required to Start: None

A-Level Access: Required

Work Schedule: 4/10s

Assignment Duration: Up to 3 years

  • Applicants must have strong DOE construction field experience and prior experience supporting work in a DOE Category II Nuclear Facility and DOE Plutonium Facility environment.
  • Candidates without the following experience will not be considered:

  • DOE Plutonium Facility experience
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM

Impact

  • As an OSS 4 supporting LANL, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and technical field expertise to project construction teams executing complex work in a DOE/NNSA environment. This role is critical to supporting construction readiness, field execution quality, compliance, communication, and coordination across project teams, functional organizations, management personnel, and customer representatives.
  • Your work will help ensure project construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with work control expectations, facility requirements, quality standards, and DOE/NNSA project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to project construction teams.
  • Coordinate with functional organizations to support safe and effective project execution.
  • Render expert opinions related to construction field work activities.
  • Provide recommendations to project design, work control, and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.
  • Conduct independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise.
  • Guide project teams in delivering results on complex, high-technology projects.
  • Interface with management personnel and customer representatives.
  • Review work quality and provide compliance and quality-related support.
  • Recommend improvement opportunities to senior personnel within the project organization.
  • Support the development of enhanced employee training, including mock-ups.
  • Support the delivery of facility-level enhanced employee training.
  • Track and schedule enhanced employee training activities.
  • Support communication between construction, work control, project management, facility personnel, and functional support organizations.
  • Identify field execution issues, risks, improvement opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Help strengthen construction readiness, field coordination, and work execution performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the construction or maintenance field.
  • Strong DOE construction field experience.
  • Experience supporting work in a DOE Category II Nuclear Facility.
  • Experience supporting work in a DOE Plutonium Facility.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required LANL site access, including A-Level access.
  • No degree is strictly required if the candidate has equivalent directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years supporting the DOE mission.
  • Previous qualification as a Field Work Supervisor.
  • Previous qualification as a Responsible Line Manager or equivalent field leadership role.
  • Previous LANL experience.
  • Prior experience working in a DOE Hazard Category II Plutonium Facility.
  • Experience supporting construction, maintenance, work control, training, mock-ups, readiness reviews, assessments, corrective actions, or facility-level field execution.
