Commuter Comforts is looking for an experienced Baker to be an integral part of our team! If you're looking for a long-term, stable (and fun!) place to work, we're the right fit for you!
This position can have variable start times depending on your availability and the number of other people working at the same time. We have 2 ovens that we share. The amount of work varies based on sales and will increase as the summer season approaches.
Baker responsibilities include baking pastries, mixing batter, monitoring inventory, washing dishes & cleaning as you go as well as at the end of shift. To be successful in this role, you should be organized, detail oriented, focused on quality and consistency, an excellent communicator, self-starter and have the ability to thrive without constant supervision! Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly and tips.
Responsibilities
- Preparing batters and baking pastries
- Keep work area clean during service & deep cleaning at end of shift
- Maintain stock & communicate needs to Lead Baker
- Check and maintain kitchen equipment
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate with team
Skills/Qualifications
- Previous work experience in baking/culinary is a must
- Must enjoy a high volume work environment
- Ability to work unsupervised and multi-task
- Great customer service experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be on feet for 5-8 hour shifts
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have reliable transportation
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Salary: $22-$23 per hour DOE, plus tips
Expected hours: 20 - 24 hrs per week
