Program Overview:
This internship is a hands-on, technical program designed for high-achieving students specializing in data analytics, healthcare technology, or related fields. With guidance from our experienced mentors, you will work on developing mathematical models, predictive algorithms, and data-driven tools that enhance provider compensation, optimize patient-provider matching, and support healthcare system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & SQL Management: Extract, manage, and analyze data from an in-house SQL database in collaboration with a database administrator.
- Model Development: Create and refine algorithms for provider compensation, patient-provider matching, and scheduling optimization using MATLAB, Python, R, and SQL.
- System Integration & Dashboarding: Develop integrated tools and dashboards to visualize clinic performance, segment patients, and provide operational insights.
- Regulatory Compliance: Complete HIPAA training and ensure all data handling aligns with privacy regulations.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with mentors to test, troubleshoot, and improve model accuracy and functionality.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking motivated, math-focused students with a strong analytical mindset. Candidates should have a GPA of 3.85 or higher (or equivalent honors), be well-versed in data analysis, and possess experience or coursework in healthcare analytics or computational modeling.
Qualifications:
- Academic Background: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Health Informatics.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, MATLAB, Python, or R for model development and data management.
- Relevant Coursework: Database Management, Data Analysis, Statistical Modeling, and Programming.
- Experiences: Prior experience with data analysis, healthcare analytics, or technical internships/projects.
