Domestic Violence Intervention Specialist
The Domestic Violence Intervention Specialist works with the Director of Domestic Violence Intervention, other Specialists and group facilitators to deliver intervention groups to enhance victim safety and promote individual accountability for those who cause harm.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a criminal justice, social work or related human services field. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and clear written and verbal expression.
COMPENSATION: $18.27-27.40 per hour based on education and experience. A generous leave package including annual leave, sick leave and personal days; 11 paid holidays; health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 403(b) with employer match; and potential eligibility for federal student loan forgiveness.

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES
New Choices Program
- Conduct intake, halfway interviews and exit interviews for group participants.
- Complete collateral contacts as needed.
- Co-facilitate group sessions for men who have used force in their relationships and cover other groups when coverage is needed.
- Complete follow-up calls and letters as needed.
- Communicate with DV Intervention Specialist for Women’s Groups regarding group participant’s status for partner contact updates.
- Work closely with the courts, social services, and probation regarding participants in the program.
- Provide updates to the Domestic Violence Court Project Coordinator for Domestic Violence Court Review hearings.
- Provide updates to the court system, attend hearings, and potentially testify in court.
- Provide updates and collaborate with probation regarding participants in the program.
Record Keeping
- Assist in tracking individuals ordered to group through the court system.
- Maintain files for group participants, including filing of weekly notes, halfway/exit interviews, call logs, and other relevant correspondence.
- Accept and track payments for group participants.
- Create client files to assist in record keeping utilizing Microsoft and a web-based database.
- Enter and pull data for program outcomes.
Training and education
- Conduct research to update program materials as needed.
- Provide public education regarding the New Choices Program.
- Attend trainings around working with those who cause harm to enhance facilitation skills.
