What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Therapist position at Community Violence Intervention Center?
YOUTH THERAPIST
As a Youth Therapist, you will deliver trauma-informed care to children and adolescents across our region. We are seeking two dedicated, compassionate Youth Therapists to join our team with the option for a 10-month work schedule (August through June), aligning with the school year, or a 12-month schedule providing services over the summer.
We are currently hiring for two focus areas:
• Grand Forks County: This position focuses on youth and their families throughout Grand Forks County
providing services at CVIC main office, shelter and local schools.
• Rural: This role provides in-person therapy directly within rural school settings and community outreach sites.
Therapy services may also be provided at CVIC offices.
What You’ll Need
• Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
• North Dakota license - LMSW or LAPC required; LCSW or LPCC preferred.
• Experience providing therapy services and work with children and victims of violence preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally or rural, depending on position.
What You’ll Do
• Deliver individual and group therapy to youth (under age 18) impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse,
stalking, bullying, and related trauma.
• Develop personalized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches.
• Provide support and resources to caregivers and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure youth and families
have access to the help they may need.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with billing and insurance processes.
• Participate in community outreach, prevention, and education efforts.
