School Psychologist (OE) 26/27 SY

Qualified applicant must hold a valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist endorsement.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a member of the educational team, the School Psychologist will endeavor to improve outcomes for students and schools by providing services that follow best practice, and incorporate the National Association of School Psychologists/NASP Practice Model and Domains of

Practice.

Specific Responsibilities

• Conduct observations, screenings and evaluations, and acquire appropriate student-related data to document current levels of performance using appropriate instruments and techniques.
• Participate in evaluation processes, as appropriate, to determine extent of student progress, educational impact of disabling conditions, continued eligibility, and related needs (e.g., RIOT approach - Review, Interview, Observe, Test; Functional Behavior Assessment/FBA; Behavior Intervention Plan/BIP, etc.).
• Participate in, and/or Lead 504 processes, as needed.
• Participate in building/district special education team meetings and processes, as appropriate
• Maintain knowledge of and promote curriculum/evidence based interventions that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate, while providing family engagement as needed.
• Work collaboratively with educational teams to promote student growth, goals, progress, and efficacy of evidence based practices in the educational environment.
• Participate in crisis intervention, as needed.
• Participate in the development and implementation of student supports/services and professional development to promote Social Emotional Learning/SEL standards and curriculum.
• Lead Individual Student Problem Solving/ISPS, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/MTSS, and school systems meetings, as needed.
• Review current research, standards, and evidence based practices of profession through the review of professional journals and publications.
• Complete and submit required written paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain records according to best practice, district special education policy, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain membership in professional organizations.
• Participate in professional development, and attend in-services, workshops, and/or professional conferences.
• Support implementation of district policies and procedures, regulations, and administrative directives.
• Maintain knowledge of and adherence to special education laws, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain and promote confidentiality of student and district records, in accordance with best practice and ethics.
  
  

District 308 grants prior experience credit on our salary schedule for up to 10 years of prior, contracted experience in a school environment.
