The Human Resources Specialist will contribute to the success of the agency by initializing people strategies, organizational development, building culture, growing leaders and other Human Resources specific or business initiatives.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Maintain personnel files and databases and ensure accuracy, compliance and confidentiality in all aspects.
- Oversee and implement an effective recruiting process from application screening to orientation and onboarding.
- Act as the primary liaison through new hire orientation and the onboarding process.
- Maintain, interpret, and explain personnel policies, benefits and procedures to employees or prospective applicants.
- Maintain required staff training database to ensure compliance with DDS, state and agency required trainings. Ensure staff remain active in all necessary certifications.
- Support enrollment in employer sponsored benefit plans, answer questions relating to benefits coverages and options available.
- Worker’s Compensation and workplace injury reporting.
- Assist in leave administration in accordance with federal FMLA and state PFML laws, aligned with agency policy.
- Provide trainings and updates to managers and staff on any policy changes and/or HR related topics on an as needed basis.
- Maintain positive relationships within the business office, internal staff at all levels, corporate officers and external vendors.
- Support with employee relations; job offers, mediating, statement gathering and fact-finding, terminations, etc...
- Assist with other HR related tasks as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Human Resources Specialist’s primary job location will be in the Community Systems office building in South Plymouth, MA. The HR Specialist will work alongside the Training and Development Specialist and Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department and acts as the direct report for the HR Specialist.
Job Qualifications
The minimum education requirements are a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. 1-3 years of relevant experience in a professional or Human Resources related role may replace this educational requirement on a case by case basis. Candidates must have a satisfactory criminal, driving and employment history per the CSI Personnel Policy. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 20 years of age. A SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certificate is preferred but not required.
