Duties
- Develop and implement individualized habilitation plans tailored to each person's unique needs, abilities, and goals
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and medication administration as needed
- Support communication efforts using various methods such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools
- Engage individuals in meaningful social and recreational activities that promote skill-building and community participation
- Collect and document data on progress, behavior management strategies, and service outcomes accurately and consistently
- Provide behavioral health support by implementing behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors
- Drive clients safely to appointments, community outings, or activities while maintaining compliance with transportation safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or related behavioral health conditions
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management strategies
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support in home or community environments
- Familiarity with data collection methods for tracking progress and service delivery outcomes
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings and appointments
- Experience with social work practices or home & community care is a plus
- Ability to administer medications safely when required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language is highly desirable
- Prior experience in child care or direct support roles is beneficial
