Collections Manager Requirements
Ensure loan repayment in accordance with terms prescribed in the borrower’s note.
Communicate with borrowers regarding overdue or irregular payments and take the necessary steps to bring the loan current. Communication may include letters, telephone contact, and personal visits.
Counsel borrowers to determine an ability to pay and establish a course of action to bring delinquent loans to resolution, which could include foreclosure, repossession and/or other legal action
Responsible for the maintenance, security, and assisting with the disposition of repossessed and foreclosed property inspections.
Make arrangements and monitor the repair and disposition of property as necessary.
Handle inquiries regarding foreclosed property owned by the bank.
Responsible for documenting all communications and interactions with customers and vendors as relates to collections in the Bank’s core banking system.
Prepare monthly reports to the Board of Directors including: real estate owned, other repossessed assets, watch list, classified assets, and any other needed reports for management. Makes recommendations for legal/other collection action.
Prepare and submit bi-monthly past due reports to the Federal Home Loan Bank for secondary market loans.
Manage credit report disputes vis E-oscar.
Review delinquent property tax records to protect the bank’s interest.
Review invoices related to collections activities for accuracy and coding.
Assisting the Lending and Loan Operations team with loan related functions.
Sales & Service Excellence Responsibilities
Answer inbound telephone calls promptly. Follow through with accountability to answer customer questions, limiting unnecessary transfers. Return phone messages promptly.
Assist with building and maintaining strong business relationships with our business partners.
Become knowledgeable with banking products and services as they relate to this position. Maintain knowledge of all loan products and services. Also maintain knowledge of the bank’s convenient banking services. Be willing to share about these services via customer communication and conversation. Bring the need for additional training to the attention of the Retail Lending Manager.
Maintain an organized work area.
Apply the bank’s service excellence standards to all customer communications and conversations – internally with coworkers and externally with customers and business partners.
Support the bank in its efforts to connect with the community, improve operational efficiency, maintain profitable growth, and achieve service excellence. Always look for and share opportunities for improvement.
Compliance, Operational & Training Requirements
Complete compliance training as assigned through BAI computer-based training system and all other training as assigned.
Train other staff as needed to ensure backup resources are available in the event of your absence. Be willing to learn other areas of operations and the bank, if needed, to serve as backup for those areas.
Other Requirements
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Experience Required for Collections Manager Position
Considerable knowledge and understanding of loans and collections – prior collections experience helpful
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
Ability to handle business partners, co-workers, and customers with patience and professionalism
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Job Details
40 hour per week position, Monday –Friday. Some Saturdays may apply when necessary.
This position is supervised by the Vice President - Retail Lending Manager.
Salary Range: $38,000 – $60,000 commensurate with experience
