DescriptionCommunity Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring a dedicated Day Program Coordinator in Queens, NY. The Day Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing all day habilitation activities, assisting consumers in scheduled and regular community activities, and/or volunteer, educational or programs Starting pay: $75,000 per yearShift available: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm)Responsibilities Meet with Executive Director regularly to maintain open communication and discuss program needsMaintain a high-quality program in accordance with company standards, mission, and state regulationsMeet with consumers, family members, case managers, guardians, residential staff, and other interested parties to determine appropriate activities and goalsEnsure compliance with all Medicaid documentationEnsure that all daily logs are properly recorded, and in compliance with state regulationsEnsure that all staff training is currentMeet weekly with Day Habilitation staff to train and address issues or concernsCoordinate quarterly inspections of fire safety systemsMaintain up to date plans, per the individual's needsEnsure individuals binders are p to date, purged and filed per company guidelines and state regulationsEmployee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or InvestigationMinimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in related fieldOne year of experience working with person with developmental disabilities in residential, day habilitation, and/or employment servicesPrevious management experience preferredExperience gathering information from a variety of sources, analyzing information, preparing reports, and making presentationsFlexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels, both internally and externally, exercise good judgement, and use common senseAbility to lift 50 pounds (weight of average manual wheelchair when chair is empty)Ability to train staff and individuals Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingWhy Community Options?
