CMHA is looking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant for our Residential PV5 Program. This position will be located at 66 Clinic Dr. New Britain, CT 06051. Tuesday - Saturday, 7:30am - 3:30pm.
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour.
Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Position Summary: Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for the tasks of personal care and incidental activities of daily living for adults in a 24/7 supervised living environment. Performs care and delegated tasks as directed by client’s interdisciplinary recovery plan and/or supervisor and/or program nurse.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provides for client’s personal hygiene, grooming, and comfort needs, i.e., toileting and elimination, bathing and showing assistance, skin and nail care assistance, foot care, laundry assistance, and oral hygiene assistance.
- Assists with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises as needed
- Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing and personnel protective equipment.
- Performs client related procedures such as but not limited to: measuring and documenting input and output, blood glucose monitoring, urine specimen collection, measurement of vital signs, and weight.
- Administers non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, and sitz and therapeutic baths.
- Supervises self-administration of medication with clients as scheduled, following protocols as trained.
- Observes and reports condition of the client to appropriate supervisor.
- Transports and assists clients as needed to medical appointments
- Completes all placement requirements established by the agency and the educational facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Nurse Assistant Certification License
- Successful direct care experience in relevant mental health setting with a solid understanding of Mental Health conditions, preferably a minimum of one year.
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Will become certified in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR.
- Participate in trainings on an annual basis, as assigned.
