The position is scheduled 07:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. and would be 3 shifts per week. The Unit Secretary serves as the primary contact for the Nursing Services Dept. You will meet and great anyone coming to the department and assist as possible. Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers and physicians. Answers telephone/intercom in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate personnel/family.
The position p repares the medical record for new admission and discharged patients. Scans hand written orders into the computer system. Logs all patients in the logbooks and in computer upon admission, transfer, discharge or expiration.
Obtains appropriate nursing staff to assist patients/physicians in the care of the patient.
Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
Orders supplies and printing weekly, obtains orders as required.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
On-the-job training is provided.
