We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community/Property Manager to join our team in the day-to-day operations of our residential apartment community at Kiptopeke Studios in Cape Charles, VA. We bought this property recently and have multiple renovations and projects going to make it a shining example of apartment living for the people who need it most in the booming area of Cape Charles, VA. We have been hard at work and are ready for the next step in reaching the broader community.
This role is ideal for a hands-on team member who understands leasing, resident relations, financial oversight, marketing, and leadership. The Community Manager and Assistant Community Manager are responsible for driving property performance while maintaining a positive resident experience and strong on-site culture..
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the apartment community
- Drive leasing activity, occupancy, and renewals
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and Virginia landlord-tenant regulations
- Handle resident concerns, escalations, and conflict resolution
- Oversee rent collections, delinquencies, and reporting
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain curb appeal and safety
- Partner with maintenance on work orders, turns, and preventative maintenance
- (Manager Coordinate with corporate teams on payroll, HR, and operational reporting
- (Manager) Supervise, train, and lead on-site leasing and maintenance teams
- (Manager) Monitor budgets, expenses, and invoice approvals
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Customer Service Skills to increase tenant satisfaction and retention
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and other Fed/State based Tenant laws
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work occasional weekends or after-hours as needed
- Driver's license and Reliable Transportation for periodic work duties
Preferred:
- Experience using property management software (AppFolio preferred)
- Previous experience as a Community Manager or Assistant Community Manager
- Experience managing 150 unit communities
- Budgeting and financial reporting experience
- Ability to work occasional weekends or after-hours as needed

Schedule
- Full-time- Hourly (Manager = Salary)
- Monday–Friday 8-5 with some weekend and extended week day availability
