Position Overview
Community Home Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to support the financial operations of our growing homecare organization. This role will play a key part in managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely and compliant processing of all accounts payable functions.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, a strong problem-solver, and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Verify invoice details, coding, and approvals prior to payment
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable records and vendor statements
- Ensure timely payment of invoices in accordance with company policies and deadlines
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and payment inquiries
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including accruals and reporting
- Prepare and maintain Excel-based reports for tracking and analysis
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reporting, data organization, basic formulas)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work on-site in Fort Wayne, IN
Preferred Experience
- Experience in healthcare, homecare, or multi-entity organizations
- Familiarity with intercompany transactions or subsidiary structures

Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday–Friday schedule, in-office at the Fort Wayne location
- Works closely with the Financial Director, Payroll Manager, Operations Manager
