Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and post engaging content across social media platforms that reflects the institution’s voice and brand.
- Capture and support visual content (photography and video) for students, classes, events, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Marketing leader and team to align visual content with campaign messaging.
- Develop creative social campaigns that promote programs, events, and institutional initiatives.
- Monitor social media trends, implement new content formats, and engage with audiences to grow reach and engagement.
- Track and report on social media performance metrics, optimizing campaigns as needed.
- Assist with video editing and multimedia content creation for digital campaigns, website, and internal communications.
- Support additional marketing initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience. One to two years of experience supporting multiple brands, campuses, or program areas, preferably in a nonprofit or higher education environment. Experience creating short-form video content. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and superior organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of Google Workspace, Photoshop, Canva and Adobe Creative is important. Knowledge of WordPress, Final Cut Pro is a plus.
Qualifications:
The Social Media Specialist must possess highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent time management and organizational skills, have energy, creativity and show initiative. Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools is critical. Photography and videography experience preferred. Strong creativity and storytelling skills with an eye for engaging visuals. Ability to model the CARES philosophy and core values with courage, teamwork, perseverance, and vision.

These include the ability to lift light equipment, work evenings and weekends for events, and stand or walk during events.
