POSITION IEP Implementation and Compliance Specialist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties and responsibilities may be assigned)
- Collaborate with school teams to facilitate the development, review, and revision of specially designed instruction through implementation of the IEPs in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of IEP documentation to ensure compliance with legal and district-specific requirements.
- Provide training and support to teachers, staff, and administrators on IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Serve as LEA for all IEP meetings, unless directed otherwise by Director and/or Assistant Director of Specialized Services.
- Serve as a resource for parents/guardians regarding the IEP process, rights, and responsibilities.
- Ensures meaningful parent participation in all IEP meetings.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions related to IEPs and special education services.
- Monitor student progress and outcomes related to IEP goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and data related to IEPs and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with district and external agencies to ensure alignment with special education laws and regulations.
- Participate in IEP team meetings and contribute expertise on special education policies and procedures.
- Stay current with changes in special education laws, regulations, and best practices to inform district practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Specialized Services to ensure effective execution of duties.
- Complies with all Board policies, ISBE requirements, School Code, IDPH requirements and other laws and regulations.

- ISBE Professional Educator License with LBSI endorsement
- Administrative endorsement, preferred
- ESL endorsement, preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal relationship development skills
- Must be able to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in English
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in Spanish, preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external constituents
- Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Ability to deal with difficult situations courteously and tactfully
