Responsibilities:
- Provide care to children and adolescents, in collaboration with department physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and pediatric physician assistant.?
- Assist pediatric providers with patient preparations and procedures as needed.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the medical chart in a timely manner.?
- Coordinate patient care with team members, other departments, and community agencies as necessary.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and CHS committees.
- Adhere to all CHS' policies and procedures regarding documentation of medication and information provided to patients.
The incumbent in this position should:
- Be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
- Be Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from a national certifying body (e.g AAMA, NCCT, NHA, AMT)
- Have at least two years of successful medical assisting experience in a healthcare setting, however recent certified graduates are encouraged to apply
- Have demonstrated success delivering high quality patient care, including taking vital signs, appropriately collecting and handling specimens, and performing in-office laboratory and diagnostic tests consistent with competency level
- Be comfortable with or be able to learn electronic practice management systems
- Have the willingness and ability to work as part of a team and to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism
