Role and Responsibilities

Summary: The IT Administrator/Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day technology operations, user support, systems administration, and frontline supervision of IT services for Community Health Connection. This role ensures that technology systems are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s mission to improve access to quality health care. The position supports clinical, dental, pharmacy, billing, administrative, and outreach teams by maintaining effective IT infrastructure, responding to technical needs, and strengthening workflows that support patient care and operational efficiency.

1. This position may supervise IT support staff, vendors, contractors, interns, or assigned technical resources. Responsibilities may include assigning work, monitoring service levels, coaching staff, supporting performance feedback, coordinating schedules, and ensuring timely resolution of support requests.
2. Serve as the primary escalation point for IT support issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, network access, user accounts, and clinical or administrative applications.
3. Administer, monitor, and maintain core IT systems, including Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoint security, file storage, network resources, backup processes, and related platforms.
4. Support electronic health record, practice management, dental, pharmacy, billing, and other health care technology systems in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
5. Ensure IT practices support HIPAA, privacy, cybersecurity, and organizational compliance requirements, including appropriate access controls, data protection, secure communications, and incident response procedures.
6. Supervise daily IT help desk operations, prioritize tickets, track service levels, document resolutions, and identify recurring issues that require process improvement.
7. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding technology needs, including account setup, equipment deployment, permissions, training, and access removal.
8. Maintain IT inventory, licensing records, equipment lifecycle plans, warranty information, and vendor documentation.
9. Assist with budgeting, purchasing, contract coordination, renewals, and evaluation of technology solutions.
10. Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, user guides, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
11. Coordinate with leadership, clinical operations, and administrative departments to plan technology changes, deployments, upgrades, and workflow improvements.

12. Support cybersecurity awareness, end-user training, phishing prevention, password hygiene, and safe technology practices.
13. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot network and connectivity issues, and coordinate resolution with managed service providers, internet providers, software vendors, and hardware vendors.
14. Assist with disaster recovery, continuity planning, system backups, and routine testing of recovery procedures.
15. Protect confidential patient, employee, and organizational information at all times.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned to support Community Health Connection’s mission and operations.
17. This role typically operates in a professional clinic and office environment. The position requires regular use of computers, phones, and office technology. The employee may occasionally lift, move, or install technology equipment; travel between clinic locations; work outside standard business hours for maintenance, upgrades, outages, or urgent support needs; and participate in on-call or after-hours support as assigned.
