What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Dentist position at COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER OF LUBBOCK INC?
The Pediatric Dentist provides direct patient care for children ages 4-12 and adults. The Pediatric Dentist is responsible for repairing and removing teeth, diagnosing conditions and communicating with patients about how to best care for their teeth and gums. Duties include:
- Fixing or removing damaged teeth
- Filling cavities
- Performing exams and evaluating x-rays to determine a patient’s health
- Developing treatment plans to deal with any dental health issues
- Administering or prescribing medications to decrease pain and improve patient health
- Interacting with patients and instruct them on proper oral care
- Measuring and fitting dental appliances
- Referring patients to a specialist if needed
Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental program. Board-Certification in Pediatric Residency or 3 years’ experience treating children ages 4-12.
Licensure: Current license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas and a current DEA. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS)
Experience: Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.
Expertise: Knowledge in all areas of general dentistry.
Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas drivers’ license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation
