We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Program Director for our Maternal Child Health Home Visiting Program - 5 year grant funded position
 
Position Summary
The Assistant Director supports the overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction of the Family Bridge Maternal Child Health Home Visiting Program. Working in partnership with the Program Director, the Assistant Director oversees daily operations, supervises clinical and non-clinical staff, ensures program quality and compliance, supports community partnerships, and promotes positive maternal and child health outcomes. The Assistant Director helps ensure commitment to the programming while advancing equitable, family-centered services throughout the service area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Operations
  • Assist the Program Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating program services.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the home visiting program.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with program standards, contractual requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor program productivity, staffing needs, and service delivery goals.
  • Coordinate operational activities across nursing, community health worker, and administrative teams.
  • Serve as Acting Director in the Director's absence.
Staff Supervision and Development
  • Provide direct supervision to RNs, Community Health Workers, and designated program staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development planning.
  • Facilitate staff meetings, training activities, and team-building initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
Quality Improvement and Compliance
  • Monitor program outcomes, performance indicators, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and grant requirements.
  • Review reports, audits, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans when needed.
  • Support implementation of evidence-based practices and program enhancements.
Clinical and Program Support
  • Collaborate with RN Supervisors to ensure high-quality maternal and child health services.
  • Support clinical consultation and case review processes.
  • Monitor service delivery trends and identify opportunities to improve client outcomes.
  • Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and family-centered care practices.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Community Partnerships and Outreach
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community organizations.
  • Represent the program at community meetings, coalitions, and stakeholder events.
  • Support outreach efforts to increase awareness and participation in Family Bridge services.
  • Strengthen referral networks and collaborative partnerships.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Assist in overseeing program data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and outcome measures.
  • Prepare reports for leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Utilize data to support strategic planning and program improvement efforts.
Financial and Administrative Support
  • Assist with budget development, monitoring, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor expenditures and support fiscal accountability.
  • Participate in grant management and reporting activities.
  • Assist in identifying funding opportunities and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of five years of experience in maternal-child health, public health, home visiting, healthcare administration, or community-based services.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area.
Preferred
  • Experience with evidence-based home visiting programs.
  • Knowledge of maternal and child health systems and community resources.
  • Experience with grant-funded programs and performance management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of maternal and child health principles and best practices.
  • Experience with quality improvement and program evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed operational decisions.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office, community, hospital, and home-visiting environments.
  • Frequent travel within the service area.
  • Occasional evening and weekend meetings or events.
  • Hybrid work opportunities may be available based on program needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the service area.
  • Ability to use computers, mobile devices, and electronic record systems.
  • Ability to lift and transport program materials up to 25 pounds.
