A family in New Rochelle, NY is seeking an ABA student, graduate student, or experienced paraprofessional to provide one-on-one Community Habilitation (Com Hab) support for a child with autism and intellectual disabilities. This position is funded through a self-direction budget and is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in behavior support and skill-building outside of a clinic or classroom setting.
Position Overview
This role focuses on supporting independence, communication, safety, and healthy daily routines using positive behavior supports. The individual is non-aggressive and benefits from structured guidance, consistency, and encouragement.

Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support in home and community settings

- Encourage healthy habits, including physical activity and food choices
- Support independence in daily routines and decision-making
- Promote communication and emotional expression
- Assist with functional money management skills
- Maintain a calm, patient, and structured approach
- Follow individualized support goals outlined in the Life Plan
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or former ABA student, graduate student, or paraprofessional
- Experience working with children with autism and/or intellectual disabilities
- Familiarity with ABA principles (formal certification not required)
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
- Reliable, responsible, and comfortable working independently
- Ability to pass required background checks per self-direction guidelines

Schedule & Pay
