As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will:
As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will:
- Review mortgage loan applications and supporting documents in accordance with secondary market mortgage guidelines and render a credit decision with or without conditions
- Work collaboratively with Mortgage Loan Originators to structure loan requests based on loan policy and secondary market guidelines
- Recognize viable loan alternatives when initial requests are not feasible to give members a choice, rather than just a denial
- Advise the mortgage team of required and closing conditions; reviews conditions and ensure they have been met
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of three years of FNMA mortgage underwriting experience
- Knowledge of Secondary Market/FNMA guidelines
- Experience on conventional, portfolio, and non-QM underwriting
- Detail-oriented with strong data analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems
