Business Intelligence Engineer II
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Community Credit Union of Florida in living out our Mission, “Always improve the financial well-being of our members and make a positive difference in our community,” by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. The Business Intelligence Engineer II requires strong technical and business skills. This position must be comfortable designing and implementing data collection and analysis systems. This position should also be able to demonstrate professional proficiencies in data architecture, data pipeline development and maintenance, data mining, and data visualizations. This includes data modeling, data matching and validation, and other data integrity best practices. Excellent communication skills and working as part of an integrated Business Intelligence team are critical. This role will also provide support for training for new and existing BI team members on new technologies and the development and maintenance of data pipelines and Semantic models.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Assists in attaining established departmental goals and adheres to all credit union standard operating policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Professional proficiency in SQL Server admin, SSRS, and SSMS environments.
- Professional proficiency in the development of Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service reporting, or other similar industry Cloud reporting tools.
- Professional proficiency in MS Visual Studio.
- Creates Business Intelligence reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations. Development is based on per-use specifications to help drive strategic decision-making and to measure improvements in all KPI areas and operational metrics.
- Ensure data accuracy by validating data using new and existing Business Intelligence tools.
- Assist in designing, optimizing, and maintaining data models used for single-source-of-truth dashboard reporting and enterprise-level analytics.
- Lead ad-hoc deep dive analysis and present findings to management and leadership
- Support data governance initiatives by documenting metadata and data lineage
- Professional proficiency with data integration skills, such as utilizing Azure Data Factory or Gen2 Data Flows, or similar tools to develop Power BI Semantic Models. This will be the development from on-premises data sources into a Microsoft Azure Data Lakehouse or similar for BI reporting dashboards and Semantic models for analysis.
- Train end-users and promote data literacy across all departments
- Creates ad-hoc reports in support of existing or new report requests through the use of approved credit union development tools. Documents coding logic for systems and reports as required to meet user departments’ business needs and goals, and to improve the use and integration of third-party systems and platforms. Acts as liaison between the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) and other departments for the purpose of data presentation so that data and reports are built to specification.
- Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Performs other related duties and works on special projects as assigned.

The environment for this position is a hybrid setting, allowing partial remote work as well as a partial in-office setting, with stipulations of coming into the office based on departmental needs or by management request. The remote environment must be clean and free of distractions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position satisfactorily. - Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work-related experience should be within the implementation, operation, programming, and support of software applications. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry-related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in any combination of the following: advanced T-SQL coding language, SSMS database experience, SSIS ETL experience, and the development and maintenance of analytics reporting in an enterprise environment. Equivalence may be considered for verified coursework studies, but experience is strongly preferred.
- Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience with SSIS, SSMS, and SSRS.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Professional proficiency in MS Azure enterprise environment, including MS Azure Data Factory, MS Azure Gen2 Data Flows, Data Bricks, and MS Power BI Service.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and Cloud storage and reporting solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills, including trend analysis and data modeling.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental managers and business units to gain a full understanding of their reporting needs and apply that feedback to reporting strategies and development of technical solutions.
- Above average ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative manner with internal business unit team members. Incumbent must possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to members.
- Capable of translating non-technical user requests into complex technical specifications and solutions that meet these requirements. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and resources to resolve problems.
- Professional knowledge of finance and banking industries, including knowledge of loan and deposit products.
- Understand related state and federal compliance regulations, credit union operational policies and procedures, and the credit union’s products and services.
- Must have the ability to articulate issues and make recommendations for solutions to achieve deliverables, along with exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to present complex data and analyses in an easy-to-understand, clear, and concise manner.
- Must be able to work in a general office environment and complete all assignments with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask, ability to work with limited supervision while performing duties, and be a strong team player. Rely on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Requires expert-level troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
