Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM)
Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) is a national not for profit educational organization dedicated to supporting youth through academic, social, and emotional enrichment. Through our programs, children and adolescents receive educational assistance, develop leadership skills, build meaningful relationships with caring adults, and gain the competencies needed to successfully transition from youth into adulthood. CCM is currently seeking Part-Time Program Aides to work with middle school students in our after-school programs
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality enrichment activities to middle school students in areas of expertise such as Robotics, STEM, Photography, Cosmetology, STEP/Dance, Art, Music, Theater, and related fields.
- Lead and facilitate group enrichment activities that encourage active participation.
- Supervise students at all times to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Plan and conduct both indoor and outdoor activities
- Coordinate activities with other Activity Specialists and program staff.
- Develop and implement project- and theme-based lesson plans aligned with program goals.
- Engage students in a positive, supportive manner that promotes excitement, creativity, and socialization.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, evaluations, and incident reports.
- Assist with daily program operations, including snack time, dismissal, field trips, and special events.
- Attend staff meetings and required professional development workshops.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Director and/or Assistant Director.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or Associate’s degree in child development, elementary and/or secondary education, physical education, recreation, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13.
- Appropriate training or certification in area(s) of specialty (e.g., sports, dance, music, theater, nutrition, character development).
- Experience working with underserved populations in an after-school setting preferred.
- Strong group management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to design and implement interactive, age-appropriate academic and enrichment activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
