This position is an hourly position consisting of 40 hours per week with some on call as needed. The maintenance employee’s main responsibility is to ensure the maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner within budget.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required, license or certifications with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or OSHA Safety preferred.
- 3 or more years of prior maintenance and/ or construction experience.
- Prior experience with, but not limited to, plumbing, painting, lawn maintenance, dry wall.
- Prior experience working within code regulations.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to remain calm on site while working with different people, personalities.
- Reliable transportation to all facility sites.
- Active drivers license, vehicle insurance and registration.
- Able to clear NYS Staff Exclusion List and NYS Criminal Justice Background Check
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect and identify repair needs of facilities and grounds.
- Trouble shoot issues to determine necessary repairs
- Assemble new office furniture
- Perform general repairs that do not require specialized technicians unless you are certified or licensed to perform said repairs.
- Mow and trim lawns at agency owned or operated facilities.
- Ensure there is no snow or ice near entry paths or stairways leading to entry paths.
- Ensure the elevator is inspected and in working condition.
- Review maintenance request forms, complete request if said request does not require a specialized technician. (Ex: electrician, plumber, etc.)
- Sign off on completed maintenance requests.
- Maintain a maintenance request/completion log.
- Attend required meetings and/or training requested by the agency.
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
- When ordering supplies, follow the supply ordering procedure.
- Adhere to professional boundaries with fellow employees and partner employees.
- Attend supervisions to communicate needs, concerns and project completion.
- Keep maintenance area clean and organized.
