Infant Teacher job description
- We are looking for a passionate and engaging Infant Teacher who will be responsible for the care and education of infants in our school.
- In this position, you will create a safe and nurturing environment for infants to learn and grow.
- You must have knowledge of child development and be able to create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- You will be expected to design and implement curriculum to support their development to help them reach their milestones.
- You must also communicate effectively with parents and be able to assess and report on each child's daily progress.
- Infant Teachers work under the supervision of Lead Teacher and the Coordinator.
- Full-time/ Monday-Friday
- Hours – 9:00-6:00 – Day shift
- 8-hour shift – 1 hour lunch
Infant Teacher duties and responsibilities
- Create and implement daily lesson plans that align with the developmental needs of infants.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants to grow and learn.
- Must attend to the physical and emotional needs of infants, including feeding, diapering, and comforting.
- Observe and document developmental progress of infants and communicate with
parents/guardians regularly.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and education.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Follow all state and federal regulations regarding infant care and education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in infant care and education.
- Utilizing technology to enhance instruction and create engaging lessons.
- Communicating with parents to inform them of infant’s progress, including written, phone, or face to face conferencing as needed.
- Participating in meaningful professional development opportunities as coordinated by the CCS Administrative Team
- Attending, supporting, or sponsoring extracurricular activities as assigned
- Ability to work with a team to create lesson plans, instructional activities, and other learning experiences for infants.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Team
Physical requirements include:
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs.
- Ability to clearly communicate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to travel to and from the workplace.
Required qualifications include:
- Belief in Jesus Christ and status as saved Christian in accordance with the Christian faith and the mission of CCS
- Ability to effectively communicate (written, oral) in standard English.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or higher in early childcare education.
- Two years of experience working with infants.
- Knowledge of infant development and care
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
- Patience and ability to handle high-stress situations.
- Classes in Infant Care
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
- Strong understanding of child development and early education curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
