What You'll Do
As a Lead Teacher, you'll create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and implement a creative, age-appropriate curriculum that supports children's educational, social, emotional, physical, and nutritional development.
- Create a welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and learning through play.
- Prepare classroom materials and activities that keep children engaged throughout the day.
- Maintain daily schedules that include indoor and outdoor play, teacher-led and child-directed learning, quiet time, and active experiences.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers through open communication and teamwork.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Teacher Assistants assigned to your classroom.
- Maintain classroom records and ensure compliance with Wisconsin Licensing Rules and YoungStar quality standards.
- Participate in planning special events, classroom celebrations, and occasional field trips.
- Work collaboratively with the Director and fellow teachers to provide the highest quality care for every child.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet Wisconsin DCF 251 Child Care Teacher qualifications, including:
- Minimum Registry Level 7 (or higher) OR a bachelor's degree in a related field
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 80 full days or 120 half days of experience as an Assistant Teacher in a licensed child care setting or other approved early childhood program
- Current Wisconsin Registry certificate qualifying you as a Child Care Teacher
- Ability to pass a caregiver background check
- Complete a pre-employment physical examination
- Current Infant, Child & Adult CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within six months of hire)
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, sit on the floor, bend, and actively engage with children throughout the day
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday
- 10-hour shifts
- No weekends
