What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Medical Assistant position at Community Care Physicians?
General Surgery is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their team! The hours are: Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Document verbal conversations and information into the patient records in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
- Maintain timely patient flow.
- Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
- Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider.
- Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
- Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, etc.).
- Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.

Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous medical/clinical experience required.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
- Experience with Allscripts is a plus!
