About the Role:

The Laundry Staff position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facility by efficiently managing all laundry operations. This role involves the careful handling, washing, drying, folding, and organizing of linens, uniforms, and other textiles to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will contribute to a smooth workflow by promptly processing laundry requests and maintaining equipment in good working order. Attention to detail and adherence to health and safety protocols are critical to prevent contamination and ensure customer satisfaction. Ultimately, this role supports the overall operational excellence of the organization by providing clean and well-maintained laundry items consistently.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate standard laundry equipment safely.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic understanding of laundry processes and fabric care.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a commercial laundry or similar environment.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry machinery and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to laundry operations.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if required.

Responsibilities:

• Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently following manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or quality issues and reprocess or report as necessary.
• Fold, iron, and organize clean laundry items for distribution or storage in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
• Track inventory of laundry supplies and report shortages to management to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills such as operating laundry machinery and sorting fabrics are applied daily to ensure efficient and effective cleaning processes. Attention to detail is crucial when inspecting items for stains or damage to maintain high-quality standards. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are used continuously to handle heavy loads and perform repetitive tasks safely. Preferred skills like knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance help minimize downtime and extend machine lifespan. Communication skills facilitate smooth coordination with colleagues and supervisors, ensuring timely completion of laundry tasks and adherence to safety protocols.

PM Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Status: Full-time (4x2 Schedule)

Pay Rate: $18.75/hour
