What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUD Counselor position at Community Behavioral Health?
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated SUD Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct support to clients. This role requires a compassionate individual who is skilled in client care and maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
Duties:
-The primary focus will be Medi-CAL DMC services otherwise described as Groups and Assessments.
- Will be doing individual assessments for SUD and SUD groups.
-Will see approximately 40 individuals (in assessments and groups per week) There will be documentation time provided.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling or related field
-Must be certified through a DHCS
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Proficiency in addiction counseling
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Certification in counseling or related field is a plus
