Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor for an on-site position located in Auburn, CA. The SUD Counselor will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, assess and develop individualized treatment plans, and provide support to clients in achieving their recovery goals. They will maintain accurate clinical records, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and ensure compliance with state and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling skills, including individual and group counseling, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention.
- Ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans and conduct assessments.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and techniques for treating substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
- Excellent documentation, organizational, and time management skills to maintain accurate client records.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective therapeutic relationships and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Certifications or licenses relevant to substance use counseling, such as CADC, or equivalent qualifications as mandated by the state of California.
- Experience working in substance use disorder treatment settings is highly desirable.
- Understanding of confidentiality laws and ethical standards in behavioral healthcare.
