Position Overview
The Residential Aide supports the daily safety, supervision, and care of residents in a residential behavioral health setting. This role assists with monitoring, daily activities, and maintaining a structured, supportive environment. The Residential Aide is a non-clinical position and works closely with clinical and program staff. Every other weekend required for position schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor residents to ensure safety and well-being- Provide supervision and support during daily activities
- Assist with unit routines, meals, and scheduled activities
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and structured environment
- Use approved de-escalation techniques when needed
- Follow safety, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures
- Document observations and incidents as required
- Support staff during admissions, discharges, and transitions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required- Experience in residential, behavioral health, or human services preferred
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and direction
- Must pass background check and fingerprinting requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
- Ability to assist with resident supervision throughout shifts
