What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Specialist for Energy Assistance Programs position at Community Affairs and Resource Center (CARC)?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Screen new clients to see if they are eligible for energy assistance.
· Assist new and current clients regarding:
o Completing energy assistance applications
o Assist Outreach Specialist in fielding questions to appropriate team member.
o Assist the manager in sending out reminders to the team about reporting, updates, and filings.
o Conduct home visits when necessary.
· Perform office duties such as mailing, copying, scanning, and faxing.
· Ensure that all files are up to date to submit to the outreach specialist.
· Provide supportive services to Outreach Specialists.
· Meet with the coordinator to coordinate file pickups and drop offs.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
· Bi-lingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Chinese, Bengali)
· Have strong communication and organizational skills.
· Must have attention to detail.
· Knowledge with Google Suite and Microsoft 360.
· Have strong time management skills.
· Experience in office setting.
· Strong customer service skills.
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $32.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
