ESL Instructor

Position: Instructor (English as second language)

Responsabilities:

• Recruiting ESL students to join the class.
• Participating in student recruitment and follow up.
• Preparing class syllabus each term.
• Assisting in determining useful and affordable textbook/workbooks for students
• Providing instruction for various levels of ESL classes
• Performing student assessments and appropriate placements
• Evaluating education materials
• Creating engaging and interesting curriculum
• Maintaining appropriate records and information
• Recording and reporting students attendance
• Assisting in student use of current technology when possible
• Attending ESL staff meetings as needed
• Attending meetings, conferences, and workshops to further job development
• Ability to demonstrate teaching effectiveness
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to relate to ESL students and diverse population
• Knowledge of subject matter in assigned teaching area
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director
• Assisting with agency fundraising efforts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• NJ ESL certification with the Certificate of Eligibility or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing
• Weekend and evenings may be required
• Must be capable of working with diverse populations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour
