Nutrition & Health Specialist
The Nutrition & Health Specialist is responsible for planning, administering, implementing, and evaluating nutrition and related health services in conjunction with the Health & Nutrition Manager. This position works closely with Nutrition Consultant(s), the Program Leadership Team, Policy Council, and Advisory Committees. The Specialist ensures that nutrition and related health services are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.

The Specialist ensures that nutrition and related health services are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
- Implement, maintain, and update program procedures for nutrition and related health services in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Facilitate formal evaluation of services through annual self-assessment.
- Develop improvement plans based on self-assessment findings.
- Review procedures annually and present updates to the Health & Nutrition Services Advisory Committee as appropriate.
- Oversee nutrition services staffing at program sites.
- Recruit, interview, and recommend cooks, cook assistants, and substitutes for hire.
