Position Summary Information

Position Purpose

The Department of Athletics at Lock Haven invites applications for a Head Women's Golf Coach (part-time, 50%), who possesses the coaching expertise and organizational skills needed to work with all aspects of a successful NCAA Division II Athletics program.

Lock Haven is an NCAA Division II Institution with 21 varsity sports programs (Field Hockey and Wrestling are NCAA Division I programs), as part of Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.

Description of Duties

This is a part-time, 50% permanent position which requires the organization and supervision of various aspects of the women's golf program with an emphasis on recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success, ability to relate to student-athletes, compliance with NCAA, PSAC, and Lock Haven rules and regulations, scheduling, CPR

certification, practice and game planning, strength and conditioning, scouting, budget management, fundraising, community engagement, camps and clinics, and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, to include but not limited to operations, events, and special program design and coverage.

Fiscal Responsibility

Head Women's Golf Coach who possesses the coaching expertise and organizational skills needed to coordinate, oversee, and organize all aspects of the program. This includes all budgeting for scholarships, operations, and other fundraising.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Head Women's Golf Coach may oversee student workers and/or volunteer coaches as applicable.

Minimum Requirements Profile

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of one year of coaching as a Head or Assistant Coach at the intercollegiate or high school level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.

A thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of NCAA, PSAC, and other applicable affiliations is required.

Essential Functions

Ability to demonstrate and teach current skills and techniques required of athletes competing in the sport. Ability to travel for the purpose of recruiting student-athletes and team competition.

Background Clearances

Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
