Transportation Planning Manager

This position manages geospatial, cartographic, and transportation planning activities to support statewide and regional planning programs.  As a Transportation Planning Manager, you will perform the following duties:

• Plan Management: Guide the development and updating of statewide and metropolitan plans using geospatial analyses and planning data
• Staff Leadership: Oversee specialists who support transportation planning programs and related initiatives
• Geospatial Oversight: Manage the use of software tools to create, analyze, and maintain maps, graphics, and spatial data
• Data Coordination: Support the maintenance and integration of key transportation layers and statewide boundary information
• Technology Evaluation: Research and test geospatial technologies to support transportation planning and operational efficiency
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Participate in committees, task forces, and work groups to support statewide and interstate coordination

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.  Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience as a Transportation Planning Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Three years of professional transportation planning, transportation administration, or transportation engineering experience, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
