This position is responsible for all aspects of compliance program development. Its analysis, planning, and project management work is essential for supporting fair and effective tax enforcement and collections across the state. As a Revenue Fiscal Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Comprehensive Analysis: Perform detailed financial, statistical, and operational analyses of enforcement programs and operations
- Program Improvements: Determine and recommend the most effective and efficient allocation of resources for each initiative
- Collaboration: Work with internal and external teams share best practices and select and study specific cases
- Operations Support: Assist with planning, developing, and implementing enforcement, collections, and examination and audit strategies
- Project Management: Lead the design and implementation of bureau tax compliance programs based on tax gaps, available data, and personnel and system resources
- Communication: Prepare reports of findings, present projects’ status and results, and draft notices, forms, and correspondence
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are a choice of either 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 60-minute lunch or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch, Monday – Friday.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A master's degree in economics, business administration, statistics, mathematics, or computer science; or
- One year of technical experience in fiscal analysis and a bachelor's degree including thirty credits in economics, statistics, mathematics, and/or computer science; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
