Oil and Gas Inspector

THE POSITION

The Oil and Gas Industry is continuously changing, and the Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Oil and Gas is leading the charge in this dynamic landscape. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The individual occupying this role will be tasked with overseeing monitoring and compliance initiatives, as well as conducting a variety of assessments related to all gas storage reservoir wells and fields. This responsibility is crucial for the enforcement of the Oil and Gas Act, Conservation Law, and the Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure adherence to the associated rules, state regulations, and established policies that have been enacted under these laws, which include, but are not limited to, Chapters 78, 78a, 79, 91, 93, 102, and 105. This position requires a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and a commitment to maintaining operational integrity within the gas storage sector.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or
• An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry.

• This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
  
  

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
