DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on monitoring oil and gas activities to ensure safety, compliance, and environmental protection throughout an assigned area. As an Oil and Gas Inspector, you will perform the following duties:
- Field Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of oil and gas wells and related facilities to confirm compliance with laws and regulations
- Complaint Response: Investigate citizen complaints related to environmental or safety concerns and document findings through established reporting methods
- Enforcement Actions: Initiate and support enforcement measures by issuing notices, preparing case materials, and assisting in legal proceedings
- Technical Review: Evaluate well records, reports, and logs to provide recommendations and ensure accurate interpretation of technical information
- Sampling and Monitoring: Collect samples, operate gas detection instruments, and document data to support investigations and safety assessments
- Record Management: Maintain accurate electronic records, case files, photographs, and other documentation to support compliance and enforcement work
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,538.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or
- An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry.
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
