EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on skilled equipment operation and hands-on work that supports highway and bridge maintenance across Pennsylvania. The role involves operating vehicles, performing laboring tasks, and supporting safe roadway conditions. As a PennDOT CDL Operator, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned machinery in support of highway and bridge maintenance
- CDL Compliance: Maintain the required CDL and complete daily pre and post operation checks
- Traffic Control: Provide flagging duties to support safe traffic flow when not operating equipment
- Manual Labor Tasks: Use hand tools and motorized tools to complete tasks such as clearing brush, cleaning culverts, and repairing guiderails
- Maintenance Work: Perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and assist mechanics with equipment servicing
- Safety Awareness: Follow safety procedures, report hazards and incidents, and remain aware of work area conditions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Shifts will vary during winter months.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
