Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) (Seasonal) - Region #2 State Park Office

In this position, you will support the upkeep and improvement of park grounds, facilities, and natural resources. You will be involved in a wide range of outdoor and maintenance work that helps keep state parks throughout State Parks Region 2 safe and enjoyable for the public. As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:

• Grounds Care: Maintain park areas by mowing grass, clearing brush, removing downed trees, and performing general outdoor upkeep
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain vehicles, tractors, power tools, and other equipment used for construction and landscaping tasks
• Facility Cleaning: Clean restrooms, buildings, paved areas, and trash collection sites to support daily park operations
• Construction Support: Assist with building repairs, new facility construction, and tasks involving carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and roofing
• Resource Work: Help manage invasive plants, support habitat improvements, and participate in directed conservation activities
• Visitor Assistance: Assist park guests by providing information and support in a friendly and helpful manner

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027. 
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.

• Work shifts and days will vary. The employee will work 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, which may include weekends and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
