Highway Maintenance Coordinator

This position supports the County Maintenance Manager by guiding maintenance activities throughout Crawford County.  Within this role, you will help with coordinating plans, resources, and communication to ensure for effective operations.  As a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:

• Work Planning: Prepare plans and estimates for roadway projects including paving, repair, and snow removal
• Resource Allocation: Recommend how equipment, manpower, and materials should be utilized to reach program goals
• Field Review: Check work in progress and completed tasks for policy, quality, and plan compliance
• Public Coordination: Meet with employees, officials, and community members to explain operations and resolve issues
• Safety Promotion: Encourage safe work practices and awareness of conditions that prevent accidents
• Staff Leadership: Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and support employee training and development

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS). 
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
