THE POSITION
As a Corrections Community Center Monitor with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will help guide reentrants on their path back into the community. This position places you in a dynamic setting where teamwork, communication, and safety are essential. You will support reentrants, maintain order, and keep daily operations running smoothly at the York Community Corrections Center (CCC). DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on ensuring safety, supporting reentrants, and maintaining secure operations within the community corrections setting. It involves monitoring activities, guiding daily tasks, and helping reentrants maintain responsibility and structure. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Oversight: Observe reentrants, monitor behavior, and conduct counts to maintain secure operations
- Search Procedures: Inspect living areas, review property, and perform scheduled and unscheduled searches for contraband
- Daily Monitoring: Track movement, maintain logs, and manage sign-in and sign-out activities for reentrants and visitors
- Orientation Duties: Provide guidance on rules, assign rooms, explain available services, and assist with housekeeping duties
- Compliance Checks: Perform breathalyzer tests, complete destination checks, and document observations for reports
- Community Interaction: Assist visitors, respond to concerns, and support communication with law enforcement agencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Work hours will include different shifts or irregular hours.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing and able to work in York, York County, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the military)
